Why Souls of Spirits exists

Souls of Spirits began as curiosity. It slowly became a way of preserving memory — bottles, places, conversations, journeys and the stories that gather around them.

The beginning

Not from drinking culture, but from curiosity.

I discovered the Worlds of Spirits relatively later in life. Growing up in Mumbai, India, spirits were never really part of our household. My mother and father are both teetotallers, and alcohol was never normalised while growing up.

The only occasional exposure came through family gatherings, uncles, aunts and close family friends who would sometimes enjoy a quiet social drink together.

My own first proper drink came around the age of 25 or 26, which is also one of the reasons this archive is intentionally restricted to visitors aged 25 and above.

Purpose of the archive

Preservation over performance.

What began as simple curiosity gradually became an appreciation for the stories behind bottles — craftsmanship, provenance, distillery history, travel experiences and the culture surrounding spirits.

Souls of Spirits was never intended to be a review platform, a sales catalogue or a display of expertise. It is a private archive documenting bottles that feel historically, culturally or personally significant.

The value of a bottle is not only in rarity. Sometimes it is in where it was found, who it was shared with, the journey that led to it, or the memory it quietly preserves.

Browse by spirit, not just rarity

The archive is not intended to be limited to whisky. As it grows, it will include cognac, armagnac, rum, arrack, grappa, wine-linked experiences and other spirits encountered through collecting and travel.

Private Exhibits

Each exhibit is presented as an archival object — photographed, described and classified conservatively so rarity remains credible.
